School Entries 2025!
If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, they are due to start school for the first time in September 2025. How Exciting! However, You must make an application for them to start school.
Is your child in Year 2 at an Infant School, Year 4 at a First School, Year 6 at a Primary School or Year 8 at a Middle School? If so, you must make an application for them to apply to transfer to the next phase! Applications can be made online at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/admissions
There is a deadline of the 15th January 2025 for guardians to submit an application for children who are:
- Starting school in Reception for the first time
- Transferring from Infant to Junior School
- Transferring from Firs to Middle School *
Applications are open by the 12th September 2024.
There is a deadline of the 31st October 2024 for guardians to submit an application for children who are:
- Transferring to Secondary School in Year 7
- Transferring from Middle to Upper School *
- Transferring to a UTC/Free School
Applications are open by the 12th September 2024.
* If you live in North Somerset, but your child attends a school in another Local Authority, you need to apply to North Somerset.
Parents can name up to three preference and may apply for schools both within and outside North Somerset.
Parents are strongly advised to read the parent guides (available 12th September, 2024) which explains the application process in more details, including how to use the admissions system.
