CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: NAILSEA TOWN COUNCIL COMMUNITY AWARDS 2025
Awards Criteria and Nomination Form
Nailsea Town Council is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for this year’s Community Awards, celebrating the outstanding contributions of individuals and groups who make a difference in our town.
Awards Criteria
There are no set categories, but we ask those nominating to think about an individual, or a group, who has, for example:
• Made a positive contribution to the parish of Nailsea, with voluntary work, or helping a youth group, or caring for the elderly, or improving people’s wellbeing
• Made a real difference to their school or community
• Achieved an outstanding level within their chosen sport, or set up a sports club, or helped with coaching
• Been inspirational when it comes to the Arts (music, theatre, writing, dance, etc)
• Made a real difference to the environment in which we live
1. Young people can be nominated for an award; there is no age restriction. There is no separate award scheme for young people.
2. There is no minimum or maximum number of Community Awards in any year.
3. Nominees do not have to be residents of Nailsea, but their achievement or contribution must, in some way, benefit the parish of Nailsea.
4. Anyone can put forward a nomination, with the exception of the members of the Awards Panel. However, self-nominations will not be accepted.
5. Anyone who has received a Community Award in the previous five years is NOT eligible to win again, but those who won more than five years previously, or were nominated in any year but did not win, can be nominated again. Refer to the list on the website here to see previous winners.
6. Current Town Councillors and Town Council staff are not eligible for nomination.
You are strongly advised not to inform your nominee they have been nominated, in order to avoid any embarrassment if the nomination is not successful.

Please submit your nominations by 31st March 2025 using the nomination form on the Nailsea Town Council website https://www.nailseatowncouncil.gov.uk

The Community Awards will be made at Annual Residents Meeting. Community Awards Ceremony, which will take place later in the year at the Tithe Barn in Nailsea.
