Fundraise for Avon Wildlife Trust this September with 30ks Wilder
Avon Wildlife Trust are inspiring people across North Somerset to take action for wildlife with their 30ks Wilder Fundraising Campaign.
On a mission to restore at least 30% of land and sea for nature by 2030, Avon Wildlife Trust have started a new campaign encouraging people across North Somerset, Bristol, Bath and beyond to get involved and help raise some much needed funds.
All the money received will go towards supporting local conservation initiatives and help protect wildlife and wild places for the benefit of everyone. Stay active, challenge yourself, and help restore the local environment – what’s not to love?

The 30ks Wilder Challenge
The challenge is simple. Participants must walk, run, cycle or swim 30 kilometres by the end of September (within 30 days!). The aim is to raise a minimum of £30 for the Trust, and you can take part on your own or with a group of friends.
Because you don’t have to complete it all in one go, it’s a great challenge for children or those with lower mobility, as well as more sporty people. Whatever your fitness levels, whatever time you have to spare, you can help make a difference!
Ways of tackling the challenge could include:
- Walking 1km every day for 30 days
- Running 5km over 6 days
- Cycling 30km all in one go
- A mixture of different distances and activities!

Nature Spots in Nailsea
The most important aspect of this campaign is getting out in nature. Across Nailsea, there are some beautiful green spaces which you could visit during your 30 kilometre challenge.
From Nowhere Woods – a small woodland with plenty of squirrels, birds and other wildlife – to Moorend Spout Nature Reserve with its free-flowing waterfall and wetland habitat, there are plenty of wildlife hotspots nearby.
