M5 Junction 20 to Junction 18 Northbound Resurfacing Works – 2 May to 24 June 2019

As part of their package of improvements and maintenance on the M5, Highways England will be resurfacing a section of the northbound carriageway between Clevedon and Avonmouth from 2nd May – 24th June 2019.

To minimise disruption, work will be carried out overnight when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day the carriageway will be open as usual. Where possible, the works will be carried out under lane closures, however, the northbound slip roads at Junction 19 and the main carriageway between the slips will need to close at times during the works.

Closures are currently programmed for these dates:

  • M5 Junction 19 northbound exit slip road: 23 May, 29 May, 11-14 June and 17-20 June – closed overnight 8pm to 6am
  • M5 northbound full closure at junction 19, between the slip roads: 5 June, 6 June and 10 June – closed overnight 8pm to 6am
  • M5 Junction 19 northbound entry slip road: 5 June, 6 June and 10 June – closed overnight 8pm to 6am

Works will be undertaken Monday to Friday except for the evening of 6 May which is a bank holiday.
