Nailsea Skatepark Review – Open Meeting & Date Confirmed for Skatepark Spring Clean

Open Meeting

It has now been just under three years since the new Nailsea Skatepark has been open, which has been used extensively by not only members of the local community but also by those travelling from further afield. It is fantastic to see that after the 20 months or so of hard work and fundraising to get to the figure of around £116,000 which enabled the park to be built, it continues to be a really popular community space.

Nailsea Skatepark Project, along with the Police and the Town Council, would therefore like to host a further open meeting about the park which follows on from the previous one in December 2017, in order to see if there are other ideas that can be introduced to assist park users to enjoy it even more, as well as discussing some of the more negative behaviour that unfortunately has been seen in the park on occasions.

The meeting will be focussed both on a celebration of the park’s success, as well as an opportunity to share thoughts with Nailsea Skatepark Project, Nailsea Town Council, Community Groups and the Community Police Team to move forward and listen to ideas to ensure it remains a safe and exciting space.

The meeting will be held at 7.30pm on March 28th 2019 at 65 High Street.

Refreshments will be served, so whether a park user yourself, a mum, dad, or carer of park users, please do your utmost to come down and support this initiative. Nailsea Skatepark Project team want to make sure that your voice is heard going into summer 2019.

Spring Clean

It’s also been confirmed that the annual spring clean will take place on 10th April 2019, starting at 10am.

The project team want to make this a great opportunity to have the park looking its very best. The police will be offering a free barbecue for all those involved, and all equipment needed to paint, sweep and litter pick will be provided. This is a great opportunity for the wider community to get involved, so with many hands this should make a huge difference.

If you have any further questions about the meeting or spring clean please don’t hesitate to contact Phil Williams on phil@christiansurfers.co.uk.

Community Skatepark Festival

It has also been confirmed that the 17th anniversary of the Nailsea Community Skatepark Festival will be held on 8th June 2019. If you would like to volunteer with the organising committee, please contact phil@christiansurfers.co.uk.
