Nailsea Town Council is supporting Nailsea and Backwell Rotary Club to actively seek new members and volunteers.

The Rotary Club of Nailsea & Backwell (RNB) is actively seeking volunteers to assist with its community-focused projects. The club had a very successful recruitment drive at the recent Volunteers Fair organised by Nailsea Town Council in September and recruited seven potential new members at the event but, more members are always needed.

RNB offer opportunities to get involved in events such as charity walks, book sales, and other fundraising activities that benefit both local and international causes. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and you don’t need to be a full member to contribute to their initiatives.

RNB meets regularly on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of each month at the Mizzymead Recreation Centre in Nailsea from 6.30pm. It offers a strong social component alongside service activities. Upcoming events include quizzes, social outings, and talks from excellent external speakers. This year RNB has supported the Litter Picks in Nailsea, supported Nailsea Foodbank by transporting donations from Waitrose to Southfield Church distribution hub every week, helped several local organisations such as the Memory Cafe and the Leg Club, held regular whist drives at the Tithe Barn to give elderly people an incentive to get out and have some social interaction, run various initiatives to support young people and local schools and organised the annual Charity Walk and Run events giving many organisations and charities the opportunity to raise money for their cause.

Ken, says “Thank you to Nailsea Town Council for the recent Volunteers Fair which was very successful for the RNB. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our many activities such as assisting at the Nailsea Foodbank Drive Day at Waitrose on Saturday, 30th November. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to be involved, it’s so rewarding to give back to the community when you volunteer and it’s also a great way to meet new friends and attend great events”
