PLEASE TAKE PART IN THE NORTH SOMERSET COUNCIL CONSULTATION ON WHERE ADDITIONAL HOMES COULD BE BUILT IN NAILSEA

North Somerset Council (NSC) has launched a consultation on how to address government housing targets and want your views. The Local Plan for 2025 to 2040 sets out where development can take place in North Somerset.

Several rounds of consultation on the plan have already taken place. But after the new government came to power last summer, all councils were given revised housing targets. Most – including North Somerset – were given increase housing targets.

NSC have now been asked to find development sites for 23,895 homes from now until 2040. That’s 8,620 more than was proposed in the last Local Plan consultation. So NSC has launched a consultation and want your views on where these additional homes could be built in Nailsea.

This plan and consultation DOES NOT include any infrastructure plans to accompany the potential additional homes.

Large parts of North Somerset are protected because of green belt, areas at risk of flooding or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty considerations. Delivering the new homes that local people need will mean some hard choices.

We strongly urge you to take part in this consultation and have your say about the future of our town.
