Reassessment of the appropriation of the land at The Uplands, Nailsea
North Somerset Councils PCO&OM Policy & Scrutiny Panel (held on Thursday 5 August 2021) asked Executive Councillor Bridger to reassess his decision to appropriate the land at The Uplands for housing, due to serious concerns about the decision raised by Nailsea Councillors.
The panel acknowledged that a full assessment of the current use of the site had not been carried out, and asked that a thorough assessment of the land is undertaken using the Governments ‘Green book on Appraisal and Evaluation’ to establish the sites social and recreational value before he reconsiders the decision to appropriate the land for housing or not.
Cllr Mike Bird, Chair of NTC said: “If you use the Public Open Space at The Uplands – for what ever reason – you should contact Cllr Bridger and tell how much you value your use of this Public Open Space.”
