Sitcoms for Nailsea

The golden age of TV comedy is taking to the stage in Nailsea.

The town’s Little Theatre is rolling back the years in its latest show, ‘Three Cheers for Sitcom’, with three short plays based on characters in classic sitcoms ‘Dad’s Army’, ‘Hi-de-Hi’ and ‘The Vicar of Dibley’.

They have been devised by Andy Marchant who is directing the evening.

He said: “We all love these sitcoms and the characters in them.

“Captain Mainwaring, Gladys Pugh, the Vicar herself….. they’ve become part of our lives over the years.

“Everyone involved in the Little Theatre shows is having a great time putting them together.

“I’m sure our audiences will enjoy them as much as we are.”

‘Three Cheers for Sitcom’ runs from Monday 7 to Saturday 12 October (performances starting at 7.45pm).

It’s the first production in Nailsea Little Theatre’s 57th consecutive season.
