Sponsorship Opportunities to Support the English Surfing Team attending World Surfing Games in China

A local Nailsea man is looking for sponsorship through organisations and individuals to get behind the English Surfing team for the upcoming World Longboarding Surf Championships, which will be held in South China over the week 19th – 25th of January 2018.

Phil Williams, a surfer of over 40 years, and organiser of the popular Nailsea Skatepark Festival was delighted to accept the volunteer role of England team manager for the world surfing games, and amongst many challenges to get the team out to China, fundraising falls within the remit.

Each one of the four athletes (two men and two women), as well as Phil himself, need to raise funds to get out to China – estimated at around £1,500 per person. The last British team to have entered the Championships finished a creditable fifth, and all involved believe this team are capable of being as competitive.

Phil is looking for companies willing to invest around £500 each, for which publicity would be prominent before, during and after the games. As the team are full of potential, all involved believe this is great value for money for interested parties.

The event will be live streamed via the International Surfing Association website (https://www.isasurf.org/events/isa-world-longboard-championship/) and there will be plenty of coverage during the games via social media.

In addition to corporate fundraising, Phil is also raising funds for himself through a prize draw, which will take place on Friday the 12th January. For every £5 donated, a ticket will be entered into the draw – current prizes include a hamper, a beautiful fused glass item and several vouchers.
