Surfing England Longboarding Team – A Fantastic Result in China

Last month, managed by local Nailsea man, Phil Williams, the Surfing England Longboarding Team competed at the World Longboarding Surf Championships in South China. It was a very successful campaign, with the team finishing fifth in the world – beating countries such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The team also finished fifth in the Aloha Cup, agonisingly missing out on a medal by two points.

All of this could not have been possible without the assistance of so many individuals and local companies. The team would like to thank Butterfly Travel, Wild Beer, Spoke & Stringer, Finisterre, Portside Gallery and Forever Gin for their support, and the surfers were very appreciative of the support they received from the public throughout the build-up, and during the games.

Team Manager, Phil, said “It was a pleasure being able to manage the team, and I’m looking forward for this to be a launch pad for an exciting 2018”.
