What to do in Nailsea this Winter – Festive Edition

As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, it’s time to start preparing for winter, and more importantly, what you are going to do. We thought we would help you out! Here is our round up of some of the most unmissable events in Nailsea this winter, including exclusive Christmas fairs and carol concerts.

2nd November – Fireworks

Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club are once again hosting fireworks night this November. Come along for a night of guaranteed fun, food and fireworks! 6pm start.

9th November – Craft Fair

The annual craft fair is returning to Nailsea Methodist Church from 10am-4pm. See all of the local talent, as well as the variety of stalls offering a wide selection of quality handmade crafts and Christmas gifts.

16th November – Farmers’ Market

Nailsea farmers’ market takes place on the third Saturday of every month from 9am-1pm. It is a great chance to enjoy Nailsea’s local produce, from sweet to savoury, cider to ale, there is something for everyone.

23rd November – Nailsea Festival of Music

Come and celebrate all things music at Nailsea School from 9am-5pm! There will be a programme full of exciting performances, showcasing skills in piano, drama, and singing. All are welcome to join.

1st December – Christmas Tree Light Switch On

At the Nailsea Community Christmas Fair, from 5-8pm in the town centre, the Nailsea Community Christmas Tree lights will be switched on. Come along and get in the festive spirit, browse stalls, enjoy entertainment, and maybe even meet Father Christmas!

10th December – Showmen Christmas Special

For one night only, Nailsea school is hosting the popular showmen Ollie Collins and AJ De Luca for an evening of spellbinding Christmas entertainment. The amazing duo will captivate the audience with thrilling magic, illusions and comedy. Don’t miss out on what promises to be a fantastic family night out!

Concerts

1st November – Gyspy Swing Quartet

This November, the Tithe Barn is welcoming famed violinist Ben Holder and his quartet to entertain audiences with jazz. Visit www.nailseatithebarn.co.uk for tickets and information.

16th November – Nailsea Choral Society

Nailsea Choral Society are delighted to present their next concert, a performance of Haydn’s ‘creation’, at Nailsea Methodist Church at 7.30pm.

23rd November – Nailsea Concert Orchestra

Nailsea Concert Orchestra present their winter concert, starting 7.30pm. The orchestra proudly supports local charities and have chosen to support Curzon Clevedon Roof Appeal. It promises to be a great night out!

7th December – Cantanti

Christ Church is hosting a delightful concert by the vocal group ‘Cantanti’ at 7pm. Come along for a joyous concert of Christmas music with carols old and new while fundraising for Christ Church’s organ. 

8th December – Nailsea Singing Project

Three popular ladies’ choirs (Voicestra, Yatton ladies’ choir and Cantiamo) will unite to perform a fun concert at Nailsea Tithe Barn. Christmas joy will be spread though uplifting songs and seasonal favourites. 

Christmas Carols

30th November – Railway Mission Carols

Come along to the 37th annual Railway Mission carols evening at Nailsea Methodist Church from 7.30pm. The free one hour service is sure to be enjoyable and get you in the festive spirit.

1st December – Salvation Army Carols

The annual Salvation Army Carols, sponsored by Nailsea and Backwell Rotary Club, will take place from 2.30pm at Nailsea Methodist Church with no admission fee. Come along and show your support!

Christmas Fairs

23rd November – Nailsea United Reformed Church

From 10.30am to 12.30pm there will be festive fun at Nailsea United Reformed Church. Not only will there be a Christmas hamper raffle, but a tombola and many refreshments including bacon baps and mince pies. This is not one to miss!

23rd November – All Saints Church

All Saints Church, Wraxall, is hosting a Christmas fair from 10.30am-2.30pm. There is plenty to do for everyone including gift stalls, a raffle, handmade gifts and a kids zone!

27th November – Whiteoak Academies

The Whiteoak Academies of Hannah More Infants and Grove Juniors will host a Christmas Fair from 5.30-7pm. Get into the festive spirit with plenty of Christmassy stalls and activities for all to enjoy. With BBQ food, the chance to win a hamper, and a performance from the school choir, they have everything you need for a fantastic evening!

30th November – Holy Trinity and Tithe Barn

The combined fair at Holy Trinity Church and the Tithe Barn is a fantastic community event that sees many volunteers come together to ensure everyone has a great time! Come along this year and see the variety of stalls and Christmas gifts on offer.

30th November – Big Christmas Coffee Morning

From 10am-noon at St Francis Church Hall there will be a Big Christmas Coffee Morning hosted by the North Somerset branch of Parkinsons UK. There will be stalls selling festive cards and gifts galore!
