Create Together

Therapeutic Arts and Craft Workshops

14th September – 19th October (Every Friday morning, 10am – 12pm)

Create Together focuses on using visual arts, crafts and creativity to help improve mental health and wellbeing. A wide range of mixed media and materials are explored in the workshops, including clay, acrylic, wires and collage. All materials are provided, anyone of any age can participate and no artistic skill is required.

‘Quartet’ treat for Nailsea

Drama fans in Nailsea are in for a treat as the town’s Little Theatre raises the curtain on its 56th season of plays.

Ronald Harwood’s ‘Quartet’ will take to the stage from Monday 15 to Saturday 20 October at the group’s Union Street home.

The bittersweet comedy about four ageing opera singers is set in a retirement home for musicians.

The question is: will they ever sing again?

A film of the play, directed by Dustin Hoffman, starred Pauline Collins, Billy Connolly, Tom Courtenay and Maggie Smith.

The Little Theatre’s production is directed by Graham Tyson.

It’s the first of three plays in the group’s 2018/19 season. Two more are scheduled for February and May 2019.

Nailsea School Careers Fair

On Thursday October 25th 2018, Nailsea School is holding a Careers Fair and would like to invite any local businesses and students to attend.  The fair will be held in the school atrium from 4.00pm – 6.30pm and is aimed at year 9 – 13 students.  Employers, colleges, trainers and advisors who can offer information that will help students develop plans for their future career paths, training and subject choices will be in attendance.

The event is open to anyone, not just Nailsea School students.

Café Create is a bimonthly performance and open mic evening set-up to promote local talent! Whether you’re an aspiring singer, comedian, entertainer or simply want to get up and perform a poem or tell a story, a variety of acts are welcome.

The event is free to attend and takes place on the 3rd Friday of every other month at The Trinity Centre, with doors opening at 7:30pm. There is also a fair trade bar café, serving a wide range of refreshments. Come along for a great evening that brings together local talent, music and entertainment! Every Summer, the community of Nailsea comes together to watch the colourful spectacle of the Nailsea Carnival. With floats and walkers taking to the streets of Nailsea, it’s a great opportunity to see what Nailsea has to offer. The carnival finishes at Millennium Park, where there is an afternoon fete, including dance, children’s rides, a car boot and more. It is a great day for the community of Nailsea to get together!
