A History of English Choral Music

Summer Concert

After a hugely successful, sell-out performance of Mozart Requiem, Nailsea Choral Society return for their Summer concert with a wonderful programme of English Sacred and Secular Music including works by Cornysh, Tallis, Byrd, Purcell, Stainer, Vaughan Williams and Elgar.

Saturday 25th May 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Nailsea. Tickets available for £12 and include post concert buffet supper. (U18s £6).

Chris Watts – Trees of Tyntesfield Past Present & Future

Hosted by Fagus, a local gardening club.

Chris Watts has been a volunteer Estate Guide at Tyntesfield since 2006. He is the ‘Tree Man’ of Tyntesfield. He helps to input details of Tyntesfield’s trees into the National Trust’s main plant database. He also measures many of the trees and passes on the details of any potential champion trees to the Tree Register of the British Isles for inclusion in their records.

Nailsea Carnival

Every Summer, the community of Nailsea comes together to watch the colourful spectacle of the Nailsea Carnival. With floats and walkers taking to the streets of Nailsea, it’s a great opportunity to see what Nailsea has to offer. The carnival finishes at Millennium Park, where there is an afternoon fete, including dance, children’s rides, a car boot and more. It is a great day for the community of Nailsea to get together!

Nailsea Concert Orchestra Presents Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue

Nailsea Concert Orchestra proudly presents the second concert in its New World Series on Saturday 13th July 2019 at Nailsea Methodist Church. Come and listen to Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue featuring piano soloist Ana England, Albinoni’s Adagio for Strings as well as Warlock’s Capriol Suite, a selection from West Side Story and My Fair Lady, and ’My Perfect World’ by local composer Richard Barnard. Open rehearsal for those with young families on concert day from 2pm-3.30pm and a pre-concert talk at 6.45pm. Tickets priced £12 (concessions £10, under 18s/students £2.50) available from Nailsea Music Shop or on the door. This concert will be in support of The Strawberry Line to Clevedon Group. The orchestra looks forward to welcoming you to what promises to be another sell-out concert!

Café Create is a bimonthly performance and open mic evening set-up to promote local talent! Whether you’re an aspiring singer, comedian, entertainer or simply want to get up and perform a poem or tell a story, a variety of acts are welcome.

The event is free to attend and takes place on the 3rd Friday of every other month at The Trinity Centre, with doors opening at 7:30pm. There is also a fair trade bar café, serving a wide range of refreshments. Come along for a great evening that brings together local talent, music and entertainment!

Nailsea “International” Bike Show

A free two day family event that features a static motorcycle display in the back garden of the Ring O’Bells pub, motorcycle related trade stands, live music at the front and children’s entertainment (including bouncy castle and face painting). The event is completely non-profit and every penny raised goes to the Children’s Hospice South West.
