Heritage Trail

A heritage trail has been installed across Nailsea, getting people exploring their local area and learning about how it came to be. Nailsea has a rich heritage that many are unaware of, and we want to bring our local history to the foreground.

Using a collection of matching signage at ten dedicated points around the town, the trail is accessible for people of all ages and abilities and cover a wide range of subjects; from dinosaurs, to glass, to the Wurzels.

Created from Nailsea pennant stone bases – a historically important local material – this trail is an opportunity to highlight the hidden heritage of Nailsea.

The stops on our trail are:

– Village Green
– Glassworks
– Middle Engine Pit
– Tithe Barn
– Nowhere Wood
– Coates Brewery
– The Wurzels
– Ancient Nailsea
– Nailsea Wildlife
– Prehistoric Nailsea
