Autumn is well and truly here, and what better time than now to round up some of the many exciting events coming up in Nailsea over the next few months? It may be getting cold out there, but there are plenty of fun events on the horizon to warm the spirit!

Wild About Nailsea’s Trendlewood Park
4th October @ 7:30, Nailsea Tithe Barn
An Illustrated talk is taking place at the Tithe Barn, led by local photographer Andrew Town. Tickets are £5 and include refreshments. During the event, Town will explore more than a decade of conservation work by the Friends of Trendlewood Park and showcase some of his stunning photographs.
Race Night Fundraiser
7th October, Ring O’ Bells
The Ring O’ Bells are holding a fundraiser to generate some much needed funds for Teddy, a local 5 year old boy who has just been sadly diagnosed with a brain tumour. The first race will be taking place at 7.15, and tickets are £7 tickets with nibbles included.
Kit Hawes and Aaron Catlow
7th October @ 8pm, Tithe Barn
To kick off their autumn concert series, Nailsea Folk Club will be welcoming Kit Hawes and Aaron Catlow to the Tithe Barn. They will be playing a mixture of traditional English folk, European folk and Klezmer music, and tickets are £14. Look up the rest of the season’s concerts here!
eat: Nailsea
8th October and 3rd December @ 10am
This autumn and winter with see eat: Nailsea return for two more food and drink festivals. Alongside some delicious Somerset food and drink, there will be a face painter, craft tents, circus skills workshops and balloon modellers. There will also be a cookery school and plenty of live music.
The Houdinis
15th October, Nailsea Social Club
If live music is your thing, why not come along to Nailsea Social Club and check out the Houdinis? The 7 piece ska and rocksteady band will be performing on the 15th October, and tickets are available at only £3 for members, and £5 for guests.
October Farmers’ Market
15th October
The next Nailsea Farmers’ Market falls on the 15th October. Come along and browse the 40+ stalls of local food and produce, and support local growers and makers.
Blithe Spirit
17th – 22nd October @ 7:45, Nailsea Little Theatre
Noel Coward’s classic comedy will be brought to life at the Nailsea Little Theatre this autumn. Join novelist Charles Condomine and eccentric clairvoyant Madame Arcati for a séance to remember. Tickets can be purchased from the box office, and doors will open at 7:00.
Pumpkin Fest
Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm
17th October – 6th November
As Halloween rapidly approaches, kids and adults alike will no doubt be looking forward to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm’s annual Pumpkin Fest. The beloved autumnal event returns on the 17th October, with many pumpkins available to purchase from just £3.
Sea Shanty Night
20th October @ 8pm, Ring O’ Bells
After a busy festival season, a host of local shanty groups will be performing at the Ring O’ Bells. There’s no charge for entry, making this the perfect opportunity to dip your toe in the water and listen to some rousing, salty songs.
Apple Day
22nd October, Ring O’ Bells
Celebrate the apple harvest at the 10th annual Nailsea Apple Day. There’s something for everyone at this family friendly event, including apple pressing, folk singing, Morris dancing, and cider making demos. There’ll also be some delicious food and drink on offer!
The Addams Family
27th – 29th October @ 7:30, Backwell Playhouse
The Addams Family will be arriving at a playhouse near you just in time for Halloween. Join Nailsea Musicals for a comedic romp that explores a brand new original storyline: Wednesday Addams has fallen in love – and he’s smart, sweet, and respectable – oh no!
Halloween Madness
29th October @ 5pm, Mizzymead Recreation Centre
At Mizzymead Recreation Centre this Halloween, there will be a range of spooktacular activities to get involved in at their Halloween Madness fair including family bingo, apple bobbing, and raffles. There will also be a range of tasty treats available from candy floss to toffee apples and much more!
Fireworks Night
5th November 2022, Nailsea & Backwell RFC
Nailsea & Backwell RFC’s annual fireworks night returns this autumn for another spectacular display. With a wide range of stalls, electrifying fireworks, and plenty of food and drink, this staple of the Nailsea events calendar is not to be missed.
Christmas Fayre
26th November @ 10am – 3pm, Holy Trinity & Tithe Barn
As the end of the year approaches, the Nailsea Christmas Fayre has you covered when it comes to kicking off your Christmas shopping! With festive food and drink, children’s activities, and craft stalls galore, you’re sure to find the perfect gift.
Vee Dub Christmas Cruz
10th December @ 4pm, Tower House Car Park
Got a VW? Then hit the road this December for the Vee Dub Christmas Cruz! Decked out in tinsel, fairy lights, and other festive decorations, over 100 VWs will be cruising from Nailsea to Clevedon to Portishead – all to raise money for a great cause: the Bristol Children’s Hospital.
