Nailsea Community Christmas Fayre was a fantastic success
Nailsea Town Council are over-the-moon that the Nailsea Community Christmas Fayre held in the Town centre and High Street on Friday 1 December 2023 was a resounding success.
The Nailsea Community Fayre was all about bringing the community together in festive cheer, promoting the lovely town of Nailsea whilst also supporting independent businesses, the amazing groups and organisations and warmly welcoming visitors. There was something to suit all ages and it started the perfect countdown to Christmas.
And what a great evening this was! With superb entertainment and free kids’ activities, including Christmas balloon modelling, face painting, a giant stilt walking Christmas tree and of course the Ice Queen herself, making an appearance singing her popular seasonal hits. The Lions arranged for Father Christmas to come on his sleigh, whilst he took a well-earned rest from preparing for the Festive season with his elves. There were some super local stalls for the public to pick up a Christmas gift and a stocking filler or two.
The hugely popular musical entertainment was provided by The Twice Dailies a ‘Wurzels’ tribute band, The Ambling Band, Carnival & dance music, Miranda Juliet, Violinist, and Part Song an A Capella group
James Tonkin Vice Chair for Nailsea Town Council announced the winner of the best Christmas Tree Bauble competition. He thanked Enid Steel, an enthusiastic and creative young person from Nailsea, who came up with the fantastic idea. All the Baubles that were entered for the competition are displayed on the Christmas Tree on the Village Green over the festive period. The winning bauble was designed by Isla-Erin Turan Gulaydin who placed the Bauble on the tree and with Enid turned on the Christmas tree lights.
James Said ‘I would like to pay special thanks to all of the Staff and Members of Nailsea Town Council who have made this event possible, together with Nina Steel of Quality Collectables for the sponsorship of the Christmas Tree and also to Praxis of Crown Glass shopping centre and Select for their work on the Christmas lights. I would like to thank all of the visitors for coming to the evening and supporting the Nailsea Community Christmas Fayre. It only remains to wish you all a very Happy Christmas. ‘
