Nailsea Little Theatre to Stage ‘Wife After Death’

Theatregoers in Nailsea have a comedy treat to look forward to as the town’s Little Theatre is to stage a hit by TV sitcom ‘Rising Damp’ creator, Eric Chappell.

‘Wife After Death’ will be on stage in Union Street from May 6 to 11 (performances at 7.45pm) and will be the last of the shows in the Little Theatre’s 2018/19 season.

In it, comedian Dave Thursby has achieved ‘national treasure’ status. Following his death, his widow is determined to give him a grand send-off and his sketch writer starts planning a biography. But on the day of the funeral a series of revelations about his dubious past leaves the guests asking themselves if they ever knew the real Dave. And when a mystery mourner reveals even more secrets, it seems that even from beyond the grave Dave is having the last laugh.

The Little Theatre production is directed by Robin Richards.
