Nailsea Town Council’s response to North Somerset Council’s Notice to Appropriate the Open Space Land at The Uplands, Nailsea

Following the Town Council Planning Meeting last night (Wednesday 28 April, 2021), this is a response to North Somerset Council’s Notice to Appropriate the Open Space Land at The Uplands Nailsea from the Planning Committee:

“The Council questions whether a thorough assessment of the need for open space has been carried out by North Somerset Council.

The surrounding land is due to be development for housing and the loss of this well used public open space will put additional pressure on the limited public open space in Nailsea.

No alternative provision for public open space has been established by North Somerset Council. We would like to see a thorough assessment which clearly shows the open space is surplus to requirements.”

If you would like to make an objection to North Somerset Council about the appropriation of land, please email uplands@n-somerset.gov.uk quoting reference UPLANDS before 12 noon on 5 May, 2021.
