Residents invited to participate in the 20th annual Nailsea Community Skate Park Festival

Organisers of the Nailsea Community Skate Park Festival are making progress in planning this year’s event, which marks the 20th occasion of the Skate Park Festival and will be at the traditional venue of the Millennium Park in Nailsea, on Saturday 25th June 2022, at 1 pm – 5 pm.

Due to Covid restrictions, the festival has not gone ahead for the past two years, so they are looking forward to celebrating its return.

Plans for the day include skateboard, scooter, and BMX competitions, with stalls and activities to participate in, and of course, lots to eat and drink.

The organisers are really keen to increase the size of the team to make their 20th anniversary really special and would love to have help from the community. If you have enjoyed the skate park or watched your children and teens use it, and would like to help they ask that you would get in touch with Phil Williams festival director phil@christiansurfers.co.uk

The Skate Park Festival is keen to highlight what goes on in Nailsea and the surrounding areas for all those attending the festival. If you are an organisation and would like to showcase what you do in the Nailsea area, please email nailseaskatefest@gmail.com and they will send you a form to explain how you can be involved.

The skate park team has always been so encouraged by the backing they’ve had when raising funds for the new skate park and support from the wider community. With that in mind, it is encouraging to see progress with both the projects to rebuild the Clevedon skate park and the potential building of a skate park in Portishead. We hope that both these organisations will be present at the Skate Park Festival so that others can talk to them about their projects.

Would you like to be involved in Sponsorship?

The event is run purely from local funding donations and takings on the day itself, both of which they are grateful for, so if you would be interested in becoming an official sponsor or would like to find out more details of the opportunities that exist, please contact Phil Williams phil@christiansurfers.co.uk

Phil and the team extend a huge thank you to all those involved in planning this event, particularly those from Holy Trinity and Trendlewood church, Nailsea Town Council, Christians Together in Nailsea, Tickenham & Failand Church, The Old Farmhouse, Hews recruit and all the individual volunteers giving up their time.

Festival updates will follow, in the press and can also be found on the Facebook page ‘Nailsea Skatepark Project
