The show must go on! – Production planned for May 2020 is ready to hit the stage

A Nailsea show that fell victim to the pandemic is weeks away from making it to the stage.

‘The Dinner Party’ is a fast-moving comedy by American playwright Neil Simon, who earned a string of awards for Broadway hits like ‘Come Blow Your Horn’, ‘Barefoot in the Park’, ‘The Odd Couple’ and ‘Plaza Suite’.

Nailsea Little Theatre originally planned its production for May 2020 but was forced to postpone as Covid struck. Fast forward two years, rehearsals have been underway for weeks, and everyone at the Little Theatre – including director Connie Walker, cast and crew – are delighted to finally get the chance to present ‘The Dinner Party, the second show in the group’s 2021/22 season.

The show will come to the theatre’s Union Street home for six performances from Monday 2 May to Saturday 7 May.

The play, set in a fancy Parisian restaurant, tells the story of a dinner party with an element of mystery about it. Along with lots of laughs, the show also has more than a little to say about the nature of marriage and relationships.

Tickets are priced at £10 (plus a 50p handling fee for payments by cheque) are available on 0777 298 1037.
