Nailsea in Bloom Poppy Appeal Raises £850!
The 2020 Nailsea in Bloom Poppy Appeal has raised £850! Despite the challenges of collecting donations this year, the appeal managed to raise around £300 more than last year.
Fundraising was different this year due to Covid-19 and social distancing restrictions. Normally, Royal British Legion collectors with boxes sell poppies in public areas around Nailsea, however this year supermarkets organised their own collections.
Local residents could also sponsor a poppy with names on in memory of loved ones to be placed in one of the four beds Nailsea in Bloom look after. The poppies should remain in the beds until late November. Residents can still sponsor a poppy with a minimum donation of £5. To sponsor a poppy, contact wendy.mobbs@outlook.com.
