Autumn Half-term Activities and Events in Nailsea

After a great start to a new academic year, Autumn half-term is now on the horizon. This year, the Autumn half term break for most schools will be between the 23rd and the 27th of October.

If you are looking for fun filled activities and exciting events to keep yourself or your children busy, then there is a lot going on in Nailsea and Bristol during the half term break.

Priority Football October Half Term Holiday Camp 2023

When: Monday 23rd October – Thursday 26th October

Where: Nailsea School

If you or your children are interested in developing your football skills, then take a look at Priority Football’s annual October half term holiday camp. The camp will be held at Nailsea School and will start on Monday the 23rd of October.

Dates and Times of the camp:

  • Mon, 23 October 2023 9am – 3:30pm
  • Tue, 24 October 2023 9am – 3:30pm
  • Wed, 25 October 2023 9am – 3:30pm
  • Thu, 26 October 2023 9am – 3:30pm

It is also possible to get tickets for an ‘early drop off’ of 8 a.m. if that would make things more convenient. There are a variety of different tickets available so if you don’t want to commit to all 4 days then you can always get a day ticket.

Priority football welcomes children of all ages and skill levels, they have put together some unique and fun games that will help keep everyone entertained and active. All your children will need is packed lunch and their sports kit.

The girl-only groups known as the ‘Puma’ session is available on Tuesday.

Eat Festivals is back in Nailsea

When: Saturday 28th October

Where: Nailsea High Street and Crown Glass

The south-west food and drink festival organiser, Eat Festivals, is back in Nailsea this year for another great food festival. Eat festivals bring the very best West Country food & drink producers and artisans together to markets in the town centre.

They help support local businesses, and you can buy or try local food & drink directly from the producers or farmers in a safe and welcoming environment.

It’s a large and well organised event perfect for the whole family as a weekend day out in Nailsea, you can even bring your pets along as it is dog friendly.

You won’t need to worry about an entrance fee as there is no admission fee.

Eat Festivals are designed to be not too crowded by allowing enough space between stalls and accessibility is an integral part of the festival. There is also stewards and security on-hand to help point you in the right direction or help you with any questions you may have.

The selection of food and drinks is meant to as inclusive as possible with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. There will also be live entertainment and music so make sure you don’t miss out on a fun-filled day of celebrating the best food and produce from the South-West!

BART Half-term River Fun Session

When: Tuesday 24th October, 10 AM – 12 PM

Where: Manor Woods Valley, BS13 7QW

The Bristol Avon Rivers Trust is holding a ‘half-term river fun session’ at Manor Woods Valley. This event is free and open to all, so it’s a perfect family outing for everyone to enjoy. Free cake and hot drinks will be provided but you are encouraged to bring your own food and drinks if you are planning on being there the whole day.

There will be activities for children to do including:

  • A scavenger hunt
  • Meet the river minibeasts
  • River art

Please advised the event will finish at 12 but attendees are welcome to stay as long as you want after the event as it will be a drop in from BART.

Nailsea Library

Nailsea Library in Colliers Walk re-opened recently which means your children will have a warm and safe place to read or study during the half-term break. With loads of new books, other resources and cosy reading corners; Nailsea Library is the perfect place to spend a day of learning and reading.

Nailsea library will also be hosting activities and digital learning sessions.

On Tuesday the 24th of October from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Nailsea library will be holding A ‘Digital Helper’ session where students can improve their computer skills and digital skills.

On Tuesday the 24th of October from 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm, Nailsea library has a Lego club session. This is a booking only activity and is a great opportunity for children to play and experiment with Lego while potentially make new friends.

Local Walks and Trails

As autumn rolls in there is no better time to grab your coat and pull on your walking boots and head off in to nature as the leaves turn gold and the air begins to chill. There are loads of great walks and trails in and around Nailsea that are a great option for a morning or afternoon outing.
